Hi! My name is Mallory Whitfield, and I'm on a mission to change the way people relate to each other and the way we think about diversity, inclusion, and belonging. I'm a New Orleans-based public speaker, artist, performer, and writer. In July 2019, I premiered my one-person show, Towards Together: A Vision for a Kinder, More Inclusive World, which offers a sequin-filled, entertaining perspective on how we can use curiosity, compassion, authenticity, and allyship to create a world with less bullying, less violence, and more kindness. Here's a peek:

This year, my mission is to bring this message to more audiences. In January 2020, we launched a new social media movement called #TowardsTogether:

The #TowardsTogether Pledge

We are united in the belief that all human beings want & need to belong and feel included.

We believe that curiosity, vulnerability, and sharing our stories can bring us closer together.

We believe that when we help other people feel seen, heard, understood, and included, we also create a deeper sense of belonging for ourselves.

Join the #TowardsTogether Movement:

If you feel the same, I hope you'll join us and share your own belonging story on Instagram or your favorite social media platform. Here's how:

  • Write #TowardsTogether on a piece of paper (or your artistic medium of choice!) and take a picture holding it. Examples above!

  • Post the picture on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter. In the caption of your post, share a story about a time when you felt like you didn’t belong, when you felt judged by other people, or felt like you were “weird” or not “normal”.

  • In your caption, use the #TowardsTogether hashtag, and tag & mention me. Here’s where you can find & tag me on social media:

The idea is that we’ve ALL felt this way at some point, but often we don’t talk about it. And because of that, we sometimes end up feeling like we’re the only ones experiencing these things.⁣⁣ Let’s get curious and vulnerable, together. Let’s share our stories so that we can see and celebrate both our common humanity AND our beautiful differences, so that we can move #TowardsTogether.
